Psychedelic 60s design

Organic shapes, round curves and space travel!

There is something equally modernistic and psychedelic about the forms and the angles of the 60s design.

It was the age of soft drugs, mind exploration and the first Moon expeditions. Architecture, furniture and home accessories of that time were often inspired with the shape of the astronaut's helmet and had this subtle sci-fi feeling about them. What a wonderfully creative decade that was! That is mainly due to the impressive work of designers such as: Panton, Eero Aarnio, Joe Colombo, Gaetano Pesce and Archizoom. Time has passed, but their ideas haven't aged at all! Because icons are universal.

Celebrity Gossip

Polka's iconic portrait of Lana Del Rey with humming birds has a chance to be the singer's next album cover

Polka is an illustrator who transfers her work into different media, making it accessible by the general public through product design and graffiti. This time she created an iconic image with humming birds looking for pollen in Lana's hair emerging delicately from the background, adding an element of surprising beauty and sweetness to this wonderful portrait.

Lana Del Rey made her claim for fame almost 2 years ago with her 'Videogames' single and became an inspirational music and fashion icon bringing in a bit of vintage nostalgia with her. I'm looking forward to seeing Polka's impressive work on her next album's cover!
